Why is my subwoofer hum when any device connected to your TV is connected to my receiver?
I STR-DG500 6.1 channel Receiver Sony, Cerwin-Vega an active subwoofer and a Sony 55 “SXRD 1080p projection television. When you connect a RCA cable (digital or analog connection) for STR-DG500, which is connected to a component that has any connection whatsoever to the television unit (DVD via analog or digital stereo coaxial cable box, analog stereo through, and even my iPod through a docking station, if the video connector is connected to the TV) I have a horrible buzz in the subwoofer. If I use an optical connection or disconnect the television component of the buzz disappears. If I connect an audio device only through a connection, no hum.
